Brand consultancy, Heavenly, asked us to help them develop and design the on-air look for NBC Universal Networks’ Universal Channel. We produced the entire package of idents and on screen pres elements in-house. The package was created to suit the various worldwide territories who would adopt the on-air look.
The 6 launch idents were based on the core idea of character traits being universal, from the inquisitive mind of the thinker, the attention to detail of the tie man and the carefree attitude of the rain girl to the playful imagination of the runner. Each ident further emphasised the characters traits using graphic elements that lived around them.
The On Screen Presentation System was designed to be warm and homely and reflective of the characters environments that we had established in the idents. We delivered a comprehensive kit of parts that would continue this feel across the channel while still being a practical kit for the channels in house teams to use day to day.
